New ways to lighten your workday
As you know, PLASTARC spends our time thinking about how to make workplaces better for the people who use them. We include many of these practices in our monthly newsletter. This month we just couldn’t wait—here are a few workplace advances that are so exciting, we had to share them today!
The Workplace Typology that’s Built for Operators
Research has shown that access to daylight, flexible multipurpose spaces, and freedom to move around make people happier and more productive at work. That’s why we were excited to discover the latest advancement in coworking, which takes the popular "phone booth" typology to the next level: Street level.
Man’s Best Trend
As more workplaces welcome pets to the office, it’s important to make sure our furry friends are looking their best. Get the professional looks your four-legged companion needs in order to stand out at work—to do any less is faux paw! Also for the canines among us: you’ve heard of Alexa for Work—now there’s Petlexa!
Office Morale on Tap
As work has become more mobile, amenities haven’t always kept up. Luckily, an innovative update to the old-fashioned office beer fridge keeps a brew handy wherever you are, while doubling as a professional development opportunity for your new hires! At just over 160 pounds per keg, you’ll also save on health and wellness since someone on your team won’t have to pay for a gym!
So Green it’s Gone
If you’ve ever had one too many servings of that aforementioned "office morale", you may have added an extra letter onto our name and discovered “Plastarch”. PLASTARC is not “Plastarch”, and here’s how to know; a place built with PLASTARC is a company’s home, while a place built with “Plastarch” is soon to be loam. If you’re at work and feel exposed, it’s because the wall has decomposed.
In Memoriam
Lastly, please take a moment of silence in memory of levity at Microsoft, which recently passed away after a prolonged battle with boring. Authorities ruled the cause of death to be a blunt-force directive from the top. Office humor was preceded in demise by life-long friend Clippy. Given the strong affinity between engineering and pranks, a rebirth may still be possible.

April Fools’!

If you’re reading this, you’ve likely made it to the end of April Fools’ Day (yes, it traditionally ends at noon). Hope your work day is full of chuckles—remember, a laugh or two is good for you and your crew!
